In addition to offering free artistic, cultural and community events each year, Friends of Mint Plaza also manages the rental of the Plaza for a limited number of private events and/or activities every year. The Plaza can accommodate events ranging from small intimate gatherings to large scale productions including special events, private dining, fashion shows, weddings, parties, and corporate receptions. FoMP's experienced event staff can assist in the creation and execution of your event, recommending preferred caters, tenting companies and performers to ensure the success of your occasion.
Commercial Film + Photo Shoots:
Friends of Mint Plaza also manages the rental of Mint Plaza for commercial film and photo shoots.
Individuals or organizations interested in organizing an event, activity or photo shoot must fill out a Mint Plaza Permitted Activity Application and submit the application to Friends of Mint Plaza. FoMP will review applications on a first-come, first-served basis, utilizing a set of Permitted Event Selection Criteria approved by the City & County of San Francisco. Applicants who receive a permit from FoMP are asked to pay all City fees associated with processing their permit in addition to a Mint Plaza User Fee that reimburses FoMP for a portion of its annual maintenance, management and programming costs. Please contact FoMP for an estimate of Permit and/or User Fees.
All proceeds generated from Mint Plaza User Fees are used exclusively to fund ongoing maintenance, free art and music programs, and the general management of the Plaza.
