Thermidor

The owners of the Mission District's hotspot, Spork (1058 Valencia Street, www.sporksf.com) recently opened their second restaurant, Thermidor on Mint Plaza. The inspiration for the new restaurant, say owners Neil Jorgenson and Chef Bruce Binn, is dining out in the '50s and '60s. And Thermidor is just that, a sort of retro restaurant and bar that's reviving the lost art of mid-20th century dining and cocktailing featuring new twists on the classics. In addition to the spacious dining room, there is a big bar with ample seating arrangements, from a lounge area to mid-high tables for those who just want a quick bite or cocktails.
